NASA Human ResourcesLeadership Development Program - Tools and information about the LDP

NASA Leadership Development Program Mission

To develop effective leaders who align with NASA’s mission and vision of the future, and who are dedicated to creating measurable results that matter to the American people.

Results are not an academic aspect of the program, but are the core of the LDP development year. Participants will not only grapple with how leaders target and achieve meaningful results, but will actually produce real results during their program year.

Candidates are selected competitively from across the Agency as part of NASA’s succession planning process. Employees interested in applying for the LDP should speak to their management and carefully review the selection guidelines and information on this Web site.

Employees participating in the NASA Leadership Development Program are required to continue in their service of NASA for a period equal to three times the length of the training program (3 years in the case of the LDP) unless the employee is involuntarily separated in accordance with: 5 CFR U.S.C. 4109 (a)(1) (1997). We take this commitment seriously - our aim is to invest in future leaders in public service.
